Our awesome Beam camp leaders will be eagerly awaiting your arrival - they’ll be the ones wearing grey shirts! Once you’ve been signed in you can wave goodbye to Mum and Dad and let the fun begin!

Don’t worry if you get here a bit early - there will be fun games and challenges for you to try your hand at until the rest of your campmates arrive.

Day 1

Before the Flood

Navigate your drone around the model Mars colony using block coding and learn core concepts such as iteration, functions and variables while you’re at it! Predict what might happen if the colony floods and plan how you would use your drone to rescue people and deliver life saving supplies.

Once you’ve become an expert pilot, take your skills further by diving into the world of 3D modelling and designing a useful ‘add on’ for your drone

Adapt, Improvise, Overcome

Oh no! The terraforming efforts have gone too far and the melted ice is now flooding our colony! How well did your predictions match the reality? Modify and test your block code, finish your ‘add on’ design in TinkerCAD, and continue to build your drone pilot skills as you complete as many challenges as you can!

Finally, present your work to the group so they can check out your creations and cheer you on as you achieve your 'Beam Badge'.
